About Nikki
Nikki grew up in South Africa where she gained a love for being outdoors and enjoying the beauty and promise of nature. From a young age she had a strong desire to not just experience life, but to understand it.
Through her study and practice of Christian Science, Nikki has experienced and witnessed so many healings over the years. Her earnest desire is for all to know the transformational healing power of divine Love. Becoming a Christian Science practitioner was a natural step in fulfilling this desire.
The Quest to Experience God
By Giulia Nesi Tetreau, CSB
Sponsored by Twelfth Church of Christ, Scientist, Seattle
Date: Saturday, April 5th, 2025 at 11:00 am
Location: The Swedish Club (1920 Dexter Ave N)
About the lecture
This talk explores the search for individual meaning and purpose, and a transformational way out of feeling disconnected, lost, and empty inside. A deeper understanding of spirituality from a Christian Science perspective opens new possibilities of experiencing God as divine Love and how that influences your life for good – and empowers you to help others too.

About Giulia
A few years into her career in the mental health field, despite having achieved professional success, Giulia felt empty inside. She had everything she’d been taught would make her happy but instead was dissatisfied and restless, yearning for something deeper. That’s when she was introduced to Christian Science through Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by religious reformer, Mary Baker Eddy. In it, I found a shared sacred space with the author and experienced a profound sense of coming home.
Since then, sharing the revolutionary message contained in the pages of Science and Health has been the cornerstone of her life. She helped oversee the worldwide activity of bringing the book to a wider public audience. She also managed a special project established to respond to the growing interest from healthcare professionals in learning more about Christian Science. Giulia has lectured to the public in a variety of settings and venues, from prisons to professional healthcare audiences and everything in between.
Humility that “Overcomes the World”
By Mark McCurties, CSB
Sponsored by Third Church of Christ, Scientist, Seattle
Date: Tuesday, May 6th, 2025 at 7:00 pm
Location: Third Church of Christ, Scientist, Seattle (5034 University Way NE) — and live streamed at thirdchurchseattle.org
About the lecture
In this lecture, we will discuss how learning to follow the example of Christ Jesus, particularly his profound display of humility, can empower each one of us to heal and to overcome the hard problems that we face. We will discuss what true humility is, how it links us to God, and by extension, how it connects us with God’s healing and saving laws. There is great need for healing in the world today, and Christ-like humility can help us to meet that demand.

About Mark
Ever since he was a little boy, Mark had a deep love for the Bible. When he read about men and women in the Bible overcoming hatred, famine, war, physical disease, and other hardships, their triumphs inspired him. It didn’t matter what the odds were, or what conditions they faced, individuals in the Bible seemed to flourish in adversity based on one common theme: their deep love for God.
Growing up in a Christian Science household, there was another book that Mark loved to read daily: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures written by Mary Baker Eddy. The very purpose of her book is to help unlock and reveal the deeper divine meaning and inspiration of the Bible. Together the Bible and Science and Health point to the practical healing and saving power of God and its present availability for all mankind. Mark knew that someday he wanted to share that healing message with the world.
As he grew into adulthood, experiences in the field of education as a summer camp director, outdoor educator, athletics coach, and resident counselor all helped to develop his understanding and practice of Christian Science. While working with young people, Mark had multiple opportunities to witness God’s healing power. These examples proved to him that the healing power of the Christ is just as alive and relevant today as for the men and women of the Bible. In 2010, with a desire to focus solely on healing through prayer, Mark entered the full-time public practice of Christian Science.
